Urban Affair

Friday, July 1, 2011 | |

My love affair with New York started in high school. I just couldn't get enough of her. After so many years together, she still amazes me. No matter how much she's changed over the years, most times I don't recognize her. She's that toxic lover I can't bear to be without. New York, Mon Amour!

My New York street style.

Sunday picnic in Central Park

Monday, June 6, 2011 | |

Beautiful Sunday in NYC. Attended the NYC Fashion Bloggers Meetup Group picnic in Central Park and I had a blast with the girls, as always. It was the perfect way to end the weekend.

The first set of pictures were taken in Westhcester County, New York (where I reside) and the rest were taken in Central Park. Thanks to my new photographer aka Slava aka my partner in crime & hubby, these pictures came out pretty darn good.

Wearing Jeffrey Campbell Mariel Floral Black Wedges, H&M shorts, top?

New York, New York

Friday, June 3, 2011 | |

I wanna wake up in a city that never sleeps! New York, home sweet home. I missed NYC and I'm glad to be home. These were taken yesterday outside work during my farewell lunch with Sadia (she's off on vacation). It was a tad windy, but perfect sunny day. I paired my tan with an oldie but goodie eyelet dress from H&M (from so many seasons ago which I own in 3 different colors). Happy Friday everyone & have a fantastic weekend!!!

Blame it on the Rain

Friday, May 20, 2011 | |

I grew up a tomboy which meant constantly "borrowing" my brother's clothes without his permission. I think that might be the reason why he hated me in high school, I sorta kept getting ketchup stains on his prestine white printed shirts. To this day I still love menswear. Occasionally, I raid my hubby's closet, but unlike my brother he doesn't mind - I also moonlights as his stylist :)  When I'm out shopping for his clothes, I tend to always get inspired (which you will see in future post).

On this rainy & cloudy day in NYC, I decided to wear my tribal dress, paired with my husband's shirt, my old 1st generation Burberry boots (which I have trouble letting go off) and grey tights. Accesories are a mix from H&M & Satya Jewelry, I am currently gaga over Satya - such beautiful pieces it was hard to choose. After the Mango Event last week, I hurried over to Tribeca for Satya's Blogger only preview (more pictures to come later from the event, so watch out for that).

Freaky Friday

Friday, May 13, 2011 | |

Hello everyone. I'm back! Blogger has been buggy the last 24 hours (in case you haven't noticed) and I haven't been able to sign in til now. Cooler Friday in NYC compared to yesterday's weather.  Unfortunately, I got sick last nite and I'm at work now, praying the day ends.

On a happier note, 7 more days til I leave for my island vacation in Belize. I am so excited!!! As you all know, I desperately need some R&R. The past week or so, yours truly has been working extra-hard to compile posts for you guys that should keep you entertained while I am away on my 12 day holiday.

Wanted to share some photos from this past weekend. Here I am on a better day wearing my favorite tribal romper and my wicked funky monkey socks, Jessica Simpson DANY in Grey, all accessories from Forever 21, except for the shades & the cuff which is both by H&M.

Brooklyn Sunday

Monday, May 9, 2011 | |

Hi guys! Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. As usual I spent my weekend running around like a crazy mad woman. My weekend started off with a romantic dinner with hubby. We had lobster rolls for dinner (YUMMY in my TUMMY) so naturally, I stuffed my face. Saturday and Sunday was spent with the family grilling cheeseburgers, cleaning, shopping, watching movies, taking photos, cooking some more and driving around NYC. Whew, exhausting.

It was one of those weekends where I was feeling a bit adventurous. I dug into my closet and just said what the heck. Lets make it fun and put on my favorite things. I'm not so sure about the end result, its not your usual or my usual get up, but the important part is that I had fun dressing up. By the way, am I the only girl on the planet that as a section for her favorite shoes in the closet? By favorite, I mean they rarely come out to play unless its nice and sunny outside. They are the no rain can touch these shoes. Since it was sunny, but a little chilly, I decided to wear my Brown Calf Jeffrey Campbell Boot Camp shoes with wool socks, Emilio tights, Forever 21 Earrings, & everything else H&M.

These photos were snapped in Brooklyn - by the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge which is visible in the background.

Color me Paisley

Friday, May 6, 2011 | |

These photos were inspired by my mother, when I was little girl my Mom used to dress me in Paisley a lot. I guess you can say she started it all, she lit the spark in me.  My mom took the time out of her day to create my outfits and style my hair.  When I wanted nothing to do with dresses, she always made sure I wore one that was not only beautiful, but unique.  She taught me to push the boundaries, dare to be different and to be comfortable in my own skin.  From red dresses with a peter pan collar, to red shoes like Dorothy.  My mother is my style inspiration.  Althuogh these photos were taken almost a month ago, I wanted to wait til Mother's Day weekend to post it as a dedication to my beautiful and wonderful mother. I love you Mom! You are the best and Happy Mother's Day!!!

Lunch on Fashion Avenue

Thursday, May 5, 2011 | |

I figured you guys are sick of Times Square (for now), so I hopped on over the next block to the Fashion Avenue.  I figured I would take you guys down to where I used to work in the Fashion Biz.  This little photo-shoot was taken across the street from my old place of work, on 39th Street & Fashion Avenue - The Heart & Soul of the Garment District.

For my Spring & Summer wardrobe, I acquired plenty of floral dresses and skirts. Here's one dress which I paired with an oldie, but goodie TEE which I bought 7 years ago. I swear it still feels & looks brand new.  I recently bought this double buckle belt @ H&M, which I initially thought was weird, but it worked well with my outfit. Tights?? forgot, but I adore them, Boots by Steve Madden (which I also wore,HERE and HERE), Tan Leather Jacket from the GAP purchased 11 years ago.

Behind me is the "Garment Worker", the world-famous Fashion Avenue Kiosk
and the Giant Needle & Button

Rockin' Friday's

Sunday, May 1, 2011 | |

Hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend. The weather has been nice, but chilly over the weekend. Hot & Humid during the week and now its cool and sunny. I have been MIA for a few days and I know its time for an outfit post. The reason for my absence is because I'm suffering from the worst case of allergies the past 5 days or so. Pardon my mess and lack of posts.

Not Quite Little House on the Prairie

Wednesday, April 27, 2011

Another hot, humid & sunny day in the Big Apple. A nightmare for unruly hair. I apologize to everyone if I look a bit disheveled, my top is a bit crooked, but you guys get the picture. We were running a tad late after our lunch break. Let's just say it was a Stella kinda day at the Bryant Park Cafe (ssshhhh). Not Quite Little House on the Prairie is what describes my look on Tuesday. I'm wearing a polka dot top from H&M, Skirt by Charles Gray, Accessories by H&M, Steve Madden Peep Toe Booties (a bit RocknRollish), old Gucci handbag and an Invicta Diver's Watch. These are one of my favorite pairs of shoes, I wore them HERE too.

Dylan & Rose @ Georgia

Monday, April 18, 2011 | |

This past Thursday, newcomer Dylan & Rose rolled out their Spring 2011 Collection at the Georgia Boutique in NoHo. They have some really cute stuff I would to love add to my Spring & Summer wardrobe.  I had a fun time chatting up some pretty cool folks, while sipping bubbly in between bites of cupcakes. Let me know which ones are you favorites and how you would style it.

Lunch Date @ Bryant Park

Thursday, April 14, 2011

On Monday, the weather finally let up in NYC and it was beautiful outside. Here are a few pics we took @ Bryant Park during lunch. We were pretty bummed we had to head back to work. I really need to think about retiring early and being a beach bum - that drink with the umbrella is looking pretty darn good, right about now. *SIGH*

CocoaChic Event @ the Tracy Reese Boutique - Wednesday, April 6th, 2011

Hey guys! Sorry I have been M.I.A., but I contracted a stomach virus (which I initially thought was food poisoining) on Thursday and was violently ill Friday & Saturday. In fact, I am still not a 100%, but as they say the show must go on. I hope everyone had a fantabulous weekend.

Hennes & Mauritz Dress Spring of 2010
A beautiful dress never goes out of fashion, its quite versatile if you let your creative side take over and have some fun. I opted to add a belt, my own take on the kimono look. Water color print has & always will be a favorite of mine - makes me feel girlie without going overboard.

Spring where art thou?

Friday, April 1, 2011 | |

Moving on to a better note, Its Friday, time to kick back, unwind and let loose a little. I have a busy weekend ahead so you guys probably won't be seeing much of me.
